Absolutely. Citric acid is the exact same organic compound naturally found in citrus fruits like lemons and oranges. It is not a synthetic detergent, harsh chemical, or artificial preservative. During soapmaking, it simply reacts with lye to transform into Sodium Citrate—a gentle, natural mineral catcher.

Here is what happens in your hand:

  1. Binds Mineral Ions: As soon as water touches the bar, Sodium Citrate grabs onto floating calcium and magnesium ions before they can react with the soap.

  2. Boosts Lather Quality: By neutralizing hard water minerals on contact, your soap turns into a rich, velvety lather instead of thin, sticky foam.

  3. Rinses 100% Clean: Without mineral curd forming, the lather washes away completely, leaving zero film or tight residue behind.
